Archive

Margaret River is a premium winemaking region in the pristine environment of Western Australia. It is blessed with excellent growing conditions and is home to some of the world’s finest wine producers. In a region filled with promise Wills Domain is emerging as its next superstar and is considered one of the finest boutique wine producers in Australia. The wines are now exclusively available through Goedhuis & Co in the UK.

Darren Haunold leads the innovative team at Wills Domain and has a legendary enthusiasm for the wine industry. At the tender age of 14 an accident left him paraplegic but this has only served to inspire him to enjoy his life to the fullest and spend it doing something that he loves – producing premium wine. He refuses to do anything by halves and has set his sights on leading Wills Domain to the forefront the Australian wine industry.

“If there is a more committed and passionate individual than Darren Haunold, then I have yet to meet him or her”, observes acclaimed West Australian wine critic Ray Jordan.

Wills Domain’s determination to produce some the best hand crafted wines in the world has resulted in many trophies, and gold medals being awarded to them. “Our commitment to making the best wine stems purely from our passion. It has been said that you can taste the love in our wines” comments Darren. “All of our wines are completely hand crafted and made exclusively from estate grown fruit,” continues Darren.

Darren’s great leadership skills were acknowledged by the West Australian Wine Industry Association who awarded him with their “˜Young Achiever Award’ in 2004. He was also recognised in 2003 by the West Australian Business News publication as their “First amongst Equals” or Western Australia’s leading business professional under the age of 40.
