Decanter, June 2023, Score: 93
This leading domaine is run by Dominique and his son Romain; their 1oha are certified organic, and biodynamic principles are applied. A very fine Mâcon-Fuissé with plenty to like on both nose and palate. Lots of complexity of flavour, from the leesy, biscuity notes to ripeness and concentration of fruit, allied to the crisp, vibrant acidity. A classy and great-value wine with the potential to age well for several years. Drink 2023-2025.
2021 Pouilly-Loché Le Bourg Domaine Marcel Couturier
£83.97 In Bond £120.00 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, April 2023
A beautiful example of the quality of the domaine’s wines and its organic practices, this cuvée is made from 11 different vineyard parcels on the Pouilly slopes. Golden yellow colour, with floral aromas of honeysuckle and jasmine, it is a very subtle style, which builds on the palate and finishes with whipped cream and pannacotta. Lovely.

Decanter, April 2023, Score: 92
Certified organic in 2021 and fully biodynamic from 2022, the grapes here are harvested by hand, fermented with wild veasts then aged on fine lees for 12 months. This has the typical weight and richness of Pouilly-Loché, with sunny, ripe peach fruit combined with a touch of honey. Acidity provides freshness together with a crisp, mineral finish. Complex and lingering flavours - very well priced. Drink 2023-2024
2020 Bourgogne Derrière Sazenay Vincent et Jean-Pierre Charton
£198.00 Inc VAT £165.00 Duty Paid-
Goedhuis, September 2022
Made from grapes grown on one of the family’s hillside vineyards, the Bourgogne Derrière Sazenay is another triumph from Vincent Charton. Always juicy, always luscious, the 2020 has a crisp-fruited palate of fresh strawberries and cherries, which are gently ushered to the finish by firm tannins and bright acidity. A delightful companion for your casserole of choice.

Decanter, June 2023, Score: 93
Vincent and Jean-Pierre's estate includes two fine Bourgogne Rouges, and this one is from the higher slopes on calcareous marl and limestone. Deep, dark, rich and appealing on both nose and palate. Soft, plush fruit character. Dark berry and cherry, with a touch of damson fruit as well. Very nicely balanced with the oak influence (12 months' maturation, 15% new). Fresh and long on the finish. Drink 2023- 2025
2021 St Véran Domaine de la Croix Senaillet
£136.27 In Bond £202.00 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, April 2023
The fruit for this wine all comes from the village of Davayé. Pale straw colour, with hints of apricot and peach, this is a fine reserved style, with a gentle creamy texture. Very bright and full of life with restraint on the finish.

Decanter, June 2023, Score: 93
The domaine is run by Richard and Stéphane Martin, who tend some 60 individual parcels. This is a vibrant, sunny and fresh example of St-Veran with weight and richness balanced by complex flavours and bright acidity to finish. From older vines, this has been aged for 10 months with a small proportion in barrel. An appealing mineral edge adds to the complexity. Plush and long on the finish with potential for further ageing. Drink 2023-2025.
