Highlights in December Decanter

Archive

Each month Decanter magazine selects its “Wines of the Month” described as “the best AFFORDABLE wines to snap up and drink now, from the hundreds that we taste each month.” We are extremely pleased that two of our favourite wines have made it into this illustrious selection.

2007 Macon Loche from Marcel Couturier – 16.5/20
“A producer who consistently churns out top-notch Chardonnay (the previous vintage was awarded a five-star Decanter Award) this is a complex, attractive wine. It’s fleshy, ripe, robustly structured and generous, with a creamy base of dried pineapple, nuts and marzipan, a mineral core, and long finish. From 2009.”

2008 Whispering Angel – 16.5/20
“A textbook Provence rose, this is possibly the most aptly named wine we’ve tasted this year. Feminine and delicate, with biscuity, strawberry notes that lure you in. It’s willowy and crisp, with supported firm acidity and a clean, mineral, elegant finish. From 2009.”
