We are very pleased to announce that Flora and James had a beautiful baby girl, Jasmine Low, (already nicknamed J-Lo we wonder?) on Tuesday morning. She has a shock of dark hair and looks quite adorable.
After months of prevarication over what bottle to crack as a celebration James is taking his new responsibility seriously and is planning to wait until Christmas. It should be worth the wait, he has picked our last lone bottle of Ch Giscours 1978.
Mr Parker gave the wine 90 points and the following note : The 1978 Giscours continues to offer delicious drinking. The color is a healthy, nearly opaque dark garnet. The wine reveals a fragrant bouquet of cedar, dried herbs, black fruits, earth, and spice. It is medium-bodied, with outstanding concentration, a sweet mid-palate, and enough acidity to provide focus. This spicy, surprisingly rich as well as ripe 1978 continues to age marvelously well in the bottle. It is fully mature, but capable of lasting.
