Beychevelle, La Lagune and d'Armailhac 2014

Archive

After a busy day with Mouton Rothschild yesterday, which sold well, and deservedly so at £1,160 per 6, we have selected the following trio of this week’s releases to offer today. They all combine an excellent blend of quality and value, which is the key ingredient in this En Primeur campaign.

Ch d’Armailhac is owned and made by Mouton Rothschild, and at under £20 IB/bottle it looks excellent value for this 5th Growth Pauillac which James Suckling gave 93/94 points.

Ch La Lagune was purchased by the Frey family in 2000 and has benefited from plenty of investment since then. They made a really good 2014 and it is also priced well at £280 IB/case.

Finally we have an excellent 2014 Ch Beychevelle which we all liked; on two separate visits to Bordeaux this showed consistently well. It looks spot on at £415 IB/case for this popular and famous Chateau, from the successful St Julien commune.
