We spend much of our lives (both working and otherwise) recommending wines to customers and friends. We are always pleased when they take the time to tell us what they think of the wines they have bought, particularly if they like them….
Here is an email which raised a smile last week:
“Dear Johnny
This is a febrile attempt to stave off your 2009-itis, a disease rampant amongst Wine Merchants which is producing a particularly virulent virus strain this season.
Reserves has just delivered this lovely Chavy Puligny 2006, and last night we enjoyed the most delicious bottle. Some of my Pulignys have been rather disappointing recently ,especially the 2005’s, but this was a real treat and a masterfully made wine.”
