MBT's – Are they the way forward?

While Emma‘s intensive training regime was realized at the Great North Run on Sunday, mine was realized in a somewhat less energetic fashion. A delicious bottle of Domaine de Jale, Cotes de Provence 2000 was prefaced by the glorious Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Ai Sassi 2004 from Simone Santini at Tenuta Le Calcinaie, which I had last tasted on our trip to Tuscany in late July.

I did feel I had earnt it having walked from our flat to Selfridges on Oxford St, via a shoe shop where we fell victim to the latest “good for you footwear” MBTs (Masai Barefoot Technology). They are the strangest looking shoes with a curved sole supposed to replicate the act of walking barefoot on soft ground. Apparently this is good for many bits of the body, so will keep you posted….

Great wine, principally Vernaccia but a small amount of Chardonnay broadens the palate. It is absolutely delicious now and Mrs C. a hardened Chardonnay – o – phile gave it the thumbs up, so happy news up on the top floor in Holland Park Road.
