2015 Montagny 1er Cru Vieux Château Jean-Marc Boillot
We are very pleased to have one of our best selling burgundy Chardonnays featured as Top Burgundy in Jane MacQuitty's 'The Times Top 100 Wines of Summer'. See the full tasting note here.
Jean-Marc Boillot, Etienne Sauzet’s grandson, has built a reputation as a first-rate producer in Puligny Montrachet, but he has not stopped there. He is also consistently making great results in the southern sub region Côte Chalonnaise. His 1er Cru Vieux Château is our team’s Montagny of choice.
Consistently one of our most popular wines from this great grower whose main holdings are in Puligny Montrachet. For some years now the family has put their accomplished winemaking skills to great use in the Côte Chalonnaise vineyards of Montagny. A creamy, lightly lemon-scented perfume introduces the easy-drinking palate with a fresh, zingy finish.
Every summer selection needs a £20-plus swanky white burgundy to go with poached salmon, lobster and the like. Jean Marc Boillot's superior premier cru from the Côte Chalonnaise is great value for money and oozes ripe, toasty, sweet tobacco and hazelnut fruit.
