En Primeur | Domaine Antoine Jobard
Antoine’s first vintage was back in 1998, when he joined his father before taking over full control of the domaine. During this period the style has evolved; the wines are less reserved than in his father Francois’s time, but they still maintain the domaine hallmark of the ability for great longevity. His wines always have precision, balance, depth, and long living potential.
2021 Bourgogne Blanc Antoine Jobard
£0 - £0 In Bond-
Goedhuis, December 2022
A blend of five different parcels within the commune of Meursault. A vibrant and fresh style combining lemon and lime flavours, which give way to enticing hints of pannacotta and roasted nuts. So much more than a basic Bourgogne, it has all the characteristics of a fine Côte de Beaune white wine.

The 2021 Bourgogne Blanc offers light tropical tones on the nose, maybe just missing a little bite. The palate is simple and quite primal, grapefruit mixed with orange rind, just a little short on the finish. Drink 2023-2026.

Jasper Morris MW, December 2022, Score: 86-87
Pale colour with a pretty bouquet of no particular emphasis. Then much more depth than expected, with fresh citrus following on from white stone fruit. Racy finish. Good. Drink from 2024-2026.
2021 Meursault Antoine Jobard
£375.00 In Bond £469.24 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2022
This cuvée consists of 11 different parcels within the village including the outstanding En La Barre, which he historically separated out as lieu-dit. A surprising creamy richness for the vintage, with an outstanding volume and depth of fruit. Tremendous weight with a lift of purity on the finish. Superb.

The 2021 Meursault Village is a blend of several lieux-dits that was introduced by Jobard last year, so this is not the result of this year's depleted volumes. It has a light, apple blossom and pear scented nose, quite Puligny in style as it becomes more malic with aeration. The palate is well balanced with fine weight, a slight bitter edge that imparts tension on the finish, though just a bit short. Drink 2024-2030.

Jasper Morris MW, December 2023, Score: 89-92
Clear pale lemon yellow. Some bitter apple fruit on the nose. It felt at first as though this blended Meursault was going to be mean and lean but the is really a lot more to it on the palate, still predominantly apple in flavour. Some citrus too at the finish. A lot of potential here. Drink from 2026-2029.
2021 Beaune 1er Cru Epenottes Antoine Jobard
£285.00 In Bond £361.24 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2022
Bordering Pommard, this is a more powerfully structured Beaune than many in the appellation. Deep garnet colour, this is rich and savoury. Dark bramble fruits, with a firmer granular tannic core. Excellent freshness, with a long and intense finish.

Neal Martin, January 2023, Score: 88
The 2021 Beaune Epenottes 1er Cru offers dark plum and mulberry scents on the tertiary nose, well-defined and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, quite "solid" and old school with dried herbs and black pepper on the finish. Fine. Drink 2024-2030.

Jasper Morris MW, December 2022, Score: 88-90
Another colour which is relatively deep for the vintage. More red fruit and plums, a little earthier than Montrevenots. A little of the orange zest in with the red fruit, more tannins, medium weight and good length. Drink from 2025-2030.
2021 Pommard 1er Cru Epenots Antoine Jobard
£490.00 In Bond £607.24 Inc VAT-
Goedhuis, December 2022
From the sector known as Les Petits Epenots, this has a wild gamey character to it. An abundance of wild hedgerow fruits, broad depth, with rich sweet tannins. Hints of Pommard power with a degree of grace alongside. A very attractive style.

Neal Martin, January 2023, Score: 89
The 2021 Pommard Epenots 1er Cru is more backward on the nose compared to the Village Cru. Backward and a bit surly, yet it opens nicely with engaging: sea-spray tinged black fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins, grippy, a little liquorice and pepperiness towards the finish. Perversely, I am more taken with the Pommard Village at the moment. Drink 2024-2030.

Jasper Morris MW, December 2022, Score: 91-93
A rather lovely glowing purple. And the bouquet is a delight, attractively floral, for the vintage a wealth of fruit, slightly more strawberry than raspberry, some well-chosen wood is well integrated, with a long supple, almost succulent finish. Tannins enveloped by the fruit. Very well done. Little alpine strawberries at the back. Drink from 2027-2033.
2021 Volnay Antoine Jobard

Neal Martin, January 2023, Score: 86
The 2021 Volnay Village has a pretty dark plum and blackcurrant scented bouquet. The palate has a slightly herbaceous entry, moderate weight with a Pommard-like, austere finish.
