Goedhuis, February 2024
Henri Bourgeois is arguably one of the best and indeed most important growers in Sancerre, famed for their beautiful and elegant expressions of Sauvignon Blanc. The 2022 is reflective of its limestone-clay terroir, showing intensity and elegance, with flavours of white-fleshed fruits and citrus, all culminating in a long and chiselled finish. A Sancerre to savour.

Region
Sancerre
The picturesque town of Sancerre perches atop a hill on the left bank of the Loire with vineyards planted on limestone and clay hillsides. A total of 14 villages and 3 hamlets have the rights to produce Sancerre, and, due to the increasing popularity of the wine, the area under vine trebled in the last quarter of the 20th century. Often considered the classic home of Sauvignon Blanc, good Sancerre is crisp, elegant and aromatic, and among the finest and most complex Sauvignons in the world. Delicate reds and roses are also made from Pinot Noir.
