Goedhuis, August 2023
How can one not love that instant bath of flowers, fruits and spice that this wine delivers? No holding back, no reticence at all, just a wash of Cornish Point indulgence - all leading to a flowing silky finish. Through the entire palate there is a gentle mineral seam that stops anything from tipping over into excess, so it seduces rather than hollers. There will be no lack of complexity to come for those with patience, but it is very hard to resist now.

Wine Advocate, December 2023, Score: 93
The 2022 Cornish Point Pinot Noir is incredibly fragrant, with dried lavender and sandalwood, cherry, raspberry pip and cocoa. In the mouth, the wine is full-bodied and supple, with layers of tannin and spice. Through the finish, the wine tightens up and flows across the palate for a precise, spooling close. Exciting wine, I like the undulation of texture in the mouth. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap. Drink 2023-2033.

Jancis Robinson, April 2024, Score: 17.5
Pale crimson. Savoury and floral. Very pretty aromas, with a Morey-St-Denis flair. Elegant, fine tannins and plenty of bright acidity. It’s delicate and pure, with a long, perfumed finish. Integration of oak, acidity and pure red fruit is spot-on. Drink 2023-2030.

Felton Road
Felton Road needs little introduction for lovers of New Zealand Pinot Noir. They are firmly established as one of the top producers of fine wine in the Central Otago region of New Zealand’s South Island. In addition to their renowned Pinot Noirs they also produce a couple of cuvees of Chardonnay, a Riesling and a Vin Gris.Region
Central Otago
For many years New Zealand growers did not know which grape variety could grow in Central Otago. Situated in the very south of the South Island it was always thought that only white grape varieties could be planted. Nowadays however there is no turning back as Pinot Noir rules the roost. There are many reasons why pinot has had so much success in the region, including the dry, sunny climate and the well-draining schist soils. Pinot Noir from Central Otago is usually quite powerful with lots of vibrant fruit and relatively high alcohol.
