Father Jean-Pierre was vineyard manager for Bouchard Ainé with the responsibility for their 30 hectares in the appellation of Mercurey. As a result, nobody understands the appellation and soil types better, surely than Jean-Pierre. Over the years he has selected his favourite vineyard parcels showcasing the different styles within the village to build up the family domaine. This is a stunning address and highlights both the quality and potential for the wines from the area.Read less

Saint Aubin

Due west of Puligny and Chassagne lies the little, picturesque village of St. Aubin. With the neighbouring village of Gamay, it produces 2/3 white wine and 1/3 red wine over 230 hectares of vines of which over 3/4 are premier cru. It was one of the last appellations created in only 1970 but has since created an excellent reputation for good value well made Burgundy that can replicatePuligny. Some of the most expressive vineyards are En Remilly and Les Murgers des Dents de Chien.
