Neal Martin, January 2023, Score: 93-95
The 2021 Puligny-Montrachet Les Combettes 1er Cru has a clean, precise bouquet with apple blossom, white peach, crushed stone and wet pavement scents, beautifully proportioned and focused. The palate is well balanced, certainly one of the more powerful Premier Crus with outstanding length on the finish thanks to its spicy, stem ginger touch. Outstanding. Drink 2025-2042.

Jasper Morris MW, December 2022, Score: 92-94
A slightly denser mid yellow colour. Some weight to the nose, but not much detail as yet. Plenty of weight and concentration on the palate, almost muscular, shows its proximity to Meursault Charmes and Perrières, with good acidity behind. Relatively classic after suffering a little in the hot, dry seasons. Drink from 2026-2032.

Puligny Montrachet
Puligny Montrachet is known as the most delicate of the white wine appellations south of Beaune. Its wines tend to be linear and mineral offering delicate floral and orchard fruit aromatics. Its village and premier cru vineyard area total slightly over 200 hectares but almost half of them are premier cru making them one of the highest proportions of quality vineyards in the Côte de Beaune. Several grand cru vineyards are present, the most notable being Le Montrachet and Bâtard Montrachetwhich it shares with neighbouring Chassagne, but it does have the extraordinary Chevalier Montrachet and the tiny Bienvenues Bâtard Montrachet all to itself. There are a handful of red wines grown, but they tend to be quite light and need to be drunk in their youth.
