Goedhuis, December 2022
Sitting behind the hill of Corton, these vines are positioned within a sheltered combe which offers both protection and warmth. A lively brightness of bitter orange and lemon peel. A dynamic energetic palate, with a touch of toast and nutty oak sensations. Good length with a lasting feeling of breadth and careful concentration.

Jasper Morris MW, December 2022, Score: 89
A pale lemon colour, with a noticeably more reticent nose. More in white fruit with less of the baked apples, though Simon finds it more exotic. Good acidity to finish and a few appley notes return at the back. More volume in the mouth here. Drink from 2024-2027.

Region
Pernand Vergelesses
With its neighbours, Ladoix Serrigny and Aloxe-Corton, Pernand Vergelesses has its own village and premier cru appellations but shares the two grand crus: Corton, a red made from Pinot Noir, and Corton Charlemagne, a white made from Chardonnay. The limestone marl soil is well-suited to growing Chardonnay and the resulting white wines are crisp and mineral with a good capacity for ageing. Pinot Noir is planted in areas of redder iron-rich soil and the best vineyards produce charmingly soft red wines with classic notes of raspberries and violets.
