  • Goedhuis, December 2022

The family own 1.2 hectares of Clos de Vougeot positioned in three different spots, which makes for a super representation of this large Grand Cru site. A focus on red fruits, tayberry and cranberry, with initial careful restraint. This feeling of reserve makes for a very thoughtful Grand Cru. It builds on the palate, with some gravelly tannic intensity ahead of the concentrated fruit which coats the mouth. Rewardingly fresh on the finish, a great ambassador for the wines of this famous Clos.

  • Neal Martin, January 2023, Score: 88-90

The 2021 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru comes from plots at the top and bottom of the famous climat, though those located at the bottom tend to accumulate water in a wet vintage. Consequently, the nose is pleasant but light with airy red berry fruit that lack the complexity of the previous vintage. The palate is well balanced with fine acidity, a bit lean on the entry that never quite recovers, just deprived of the substance by the malevolent growing season. Drink 2024-2034

  • Jasper Morris MW, November 2022, Score: 93-96

Pale but pretty colour. Light fruit on the nose. Spared from the frost, and as is typical of such cuvees in 2021, the wine feels more complete – in fact, displaying a particularly long finish. This avoids also the blocky side of Clos Vougeot, showing instead a rather fine fresh but light strawberry fruit. One could almost suggest that it is ethereal for this appellation! Drink from 2030-2038.
