Goedhuis, December 2022
A 1 hectare plot from 60-year-old vines, this is a flagship for the domaine. Notes of spice, fresh fig, and toffee fudge. An immediate impression of density, this is a wine of real substance, but underpinned by a racy freshness, finishing with a rewarding creamy sweetness.

Neal Martin, September 2023, Score: 88
The 2021 Chablis Côte de Léchet 1er Cru comes from 60-year-old vines and spent six months on the fine lees, 10% aged in barrel. It has a punchy nose with very aromatic floral scents, hints of grapefruit and more subtle earthy aromas. The palate is well-balanced, with a slightly honeyed opening and acidity neatly offsetting tropical notes of mango and pineapple. Quite concentrated on the finish, this should drink well for a few years. Oddly, more like a 2022 in style!

Burghound, October 2022, Score: 92
Here too the nose reflects a note of mineral reduction on the much more citrus-inflected aromas of white flower and iodine. There is fine volume and excellent punch to the delicious medium weight flavors that exhibit very good length on the super-saline bitter lemon-inflected finale. This is lovely and well-worth your interest. Drink 2028+

Cask sample. More discreet nose than the regular Chablis and much more obvious acidity. Should mature into a very attractive drink. Some lime notes and medium palate weight. Drink 2025 – 2035

Jasper Morris MW, December 2022, Score: 90-92
Pale lemon yellow. The nose is more classic Chablis here with a correct mineral freshness. White fruit up front, a crisp attack, a little citrus, this is back in more classic mode. Drink from 2024-2028. Tasted: June 2022

The Pommiers craft vibrant, aromatic wines from native yeasts in a fruit forward style with graceful volume. They always have a classic Chablis freshness, combining well with floral and ripe Chardonnay flavours. The premiers crus are part fermented in barrels of varying ages and are delicious expressions of their Kimmeridgian terroirs.Read less
Region
Chablis
Chablis is world famous for its fine white wines produced from the Chardonnay grape. The best vineyards are perched above the winding Serein river and are south or southwest facing ensuring better ripeness in this cooler climate. It has four appellation levels. Petit Chablis is the most modest and simple followed by Chablis, which is the largest and most prominent. Premier cru Chablis is the third largest appellation and encompasses almost 40 different climats or vineyards including the famed Montée de Tonnerre, Fourchaumes and Mont de Milieu. The most noble of all Chablis are the grand crus of which there are 7 climats in total Bougros, Les Preuses, Vaudésir, Grenouilles, Valmur, Les Clos and Blanchot. The wines of Chablis have remained some of the best value in the world, particularly their superb grand crus which can easily cost 50% less than its closest revered white grand cru neighbour, Corton Charlemagne.
