Goedhuis, July 2023
Just like the Lansdale, the Terraces is made from the special Calera clone of Pinot Noir that gives this 2019 its splashes of vivid blue fruits to match the varietal’s typical creamy strawberry, soft raspberry and crunchy pomegranate. Tightly coiled for now, the rich fruit is sumptuously spiced with cinnamon, clove and dried violets. Perfectly balanced, its sleek structure and impressive acidity makes it a happy addition to the cellar. Owner Christian Pillsbury is delighted with his 2019s and thinks they’re some of his best wines yet. We cannot wait to follow the 2019 over the next decade and longer. Only 18 barrels produced. Drink 2025-2035.

Wine Enthusiast, January 2023, Score: 93
Dark plum, elegant lavender and cola spice aromas meet with smoothly toasted oak on the nose of this bottling. The taut palate is both rich in supple mouthfeel and brisk in pomegranate and chai-spice flavors, which will align even better with patience. Drink now–2036.

Eden Rift Vineyards
Under vine since 1849, Eden Rift is one of the oldest continually producing estate vineyards in California. A remote, pacific refuge located under the shadow of the Gavilan Mountain Range, the estate rests on the San Andreas Fault. Only 20 miles from the Pacific Ocean, this site benefits from an ideal, temperate maritime climate as well as the coveted calcareous soils requisite in the cultivation of vivid and energetic Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Eden Rift's winemaker Cory Waller, spent time in Napa, Oregon and in Martinborough, New Zealand, and neighbouring Calera, before joining the team at Eden Rift. A man of few words, Waller favours the fruit of vines that struggle profoundly to produce small, yet delineated yields. He prefers to allow Mother Nature to do her thing.Region
California
California is responsible for producing more than 80% of all North American wine. The state extends some 1,100 km north to south and vineyards can be found along most of its length. Pacific ocean breezes and high altitude offer welcome cooling influences to the warm, bright sunshine. This region is rich in old vines, many being planted in the late 19th century and boasts an extraordinary range of soil. It's home to someof thge worl's most prestigious wines and produces a rich and diverse range of wine styles, from stately and expressive Cabernet Sauvignons to juicy and elegant Pinot Noirs. Notable wine regions include Napa Valley and Sonoma County.
