Goedhuis, December 2020
The domaine owns 11 different parcels across the village, so this is unsurprisingly a model Chambolle Musigny. Slightly smoky black fruit aromas. On the palate it is rich, full and succulent with juicy dark fruit flavours. A very relaxed style with an easy freshness.

Neal Martin, December 2020, Score: 88-90
The 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Village is matured in 20% new oak (production reduced from the usual 40 barrels to just 23). Raspberry, cassis and a touch of mint unfold on the focused nose, which carries floral topnotes. The medium-bodied palate delivers tart red berry fruit on the entry. Nicely structured and fresh, with orange zest enlivening the finish. This should drink well over the next decade. Drink 2022 - 2032

Burghound, January 2021, Score: 89-91
A more elegant and slightly fresher nose is composed by aromas of black cherry, raspberry and pretty violet nuances. There is a really lovely texture to the delicious, saline-inflected and sneaky long finish that is very well-balanced. A quality Chambolle villages. Outstanding. Drink 2025+

The Hudelots are an ancient Burgundian family whose ancestry can be traced back to Chambolle since before the French Revolution. Needless to say, wine has been in their blood for almost as long. Alain Huedlot began his wine career in 1954 working for his father and other local growers. At the ripe young age of 20, he started renting vineyards from his family in Chambolle Musigny until eventually receiving other small parcels from his father. Following a passionate and whirlwind romance with the granddaughter of Charles Noellat, he married despite protests from her family. This controversial union ensured additional vineyards despite a harrying and lengthy legal battle. Today the domaine owns a total of 10 well-situated hectares, which are split over 5 communes. Alain Hudelot’s grandson Charles Van Canneyt is a man on a mission. Having arrived at the domaine from Champagne only six years ago, he is already considered one of the brightest young talents in the region. These wines are wonderful examples of traditionally styled Burgundy - superbly pure and focused with an undeniable sense of terroir.Read less

Chambolle Musigny
The wines of Chambolle Musigny are like no other. They can be superbly delicate, yet mindblowingly complex. Of all the northern Burgundy appellations, they are the most ethereal, and as a result the most feminine. Most of the Chambolle Musigny vineyard area is encompassed in its Village and Premier Cru appellations including the robust Beaux Bruns, the splendidly mineral Le Cras and the poised yet powerful Les Amoureuses. It produces only two Grand Crus - the round and rich Bonnes Mares which it shares with Morey St. Dénis, as well as what could be described as the Stradivarius of grand crus, Musigny.
