Goedhuis, December 2016
This has a blackcurrant cassis-like concentration, lifted by a smoky graphite note. The tannins are extremely fine and powdery, indicating its high quality terroir. A peppery twist gives this wine great character.

Neal Martin, December 2016, Score: 94-96
The 2015 Clos St Denis Grand Cru has an upfront, quite bold bouquet with vibrant red berry fruit, crushed strawberries, orange sorbet and a touch of earl grey. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannin, well-judged acidity, fleshy and quite opulent towards the pure finish. This is destined to a gorgeous Clos Saint-Denis from Benjamin Leroux, one of the best from his comprehensive range of 2015s. Queue up for this...and don't push in. Drink Date 2020 - 2045

Region
Côte de Nuits Villages
This communal appellation covers the vineyards of Fixin, Brochon, Premeaux, Comblanchien, and Corgoloin. Spread along the length of the Cotes de Nuits the wines of the different communes are, unsurprisingly, varied, reflecting a range of different exposures and nuances of soild type. The vast majority of production is red, with just a smattering of Chardonnay grown. The reds can offer very good value from the better producers.
