Stunningly focused raspberry and strawberry fruits, it has a delicious touch of sweetness. A very calm and relaxed wine and hugely pleasurable.

    The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes has a refined bouquet, very pure redcurrant and wild strawberry fruit that opens nicely in the glass. The palate is very pure on the entry with fleshy red cherry and raspberry fruit, a keen thread of acidity with a citrus-like finish. It just cuts away a little sharply on the finish, but hopefully it will flesh out by the time of bottling. Drink 2018-2030

    This is quite aromatically similar to the Cigales but even more elegant and a bit more complex as well. There is once again a really lovely mouth feel to the caressing, round and highly refined flavors that exude an enticing inner mouth perfume while delivering excellent length on the focused, delineated and silky finish where the sense of refinement is enhanced by the notably fine-grained tannins. Furthermore, they are not afraid to experiment, and are always evolving the viticulture and winemaking style with small innovations. The estate has eschewed the fashion of using new oak barrels to age the wines, preferring seasoned casks which act as an “elevage” vessel rather than imparting barrel flavours. Chambolle Musigny

The wines of Chambolle Musigny are like no other. They can be superbly delicate, yet mindblowingly complex. Of all the northern Burgundy appellations, they are the most ethereal, and as a result the most feminine. Most of the Chambolle Musigny vineyard area is encompassed in its Village and Premier Cru appellations including the robust Beaux Bruns, the splendidly mineral Le Cras and the poised yet powerful Les Amoureuses. It produces only two Grand Crus - the round and rich Bonnes Mares which it shares with Morey St. Dénis, as well as what could be described as the Stradivarius of grand crus, Musigny.
