Goedhuis, November 2016
Extraordinary richness on the palate here. It has the intense fruit of the vintage and the mineral terroir character of the grand cru underneath. All the best elements are amplified here, with intensity derived from the old vines.

Neal Martin, December 2016, Score: 91-93
The 2015 Bienvenue-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a very pretty bouquet, almost like a more complex and vigorous version of the 2015 Puligny Clavoillon - hints of acacia honey, honeysuckle, cold limestone and flint. The aromas appear to gain vigor in the glass. The palate is very well balanced with good weight in the mouth. Perhaps not quite as tensile as the 2014, nevertheless it is nicely focused and offers good weight on the finish. I would just like to see more terroir expression on the finish here, though there is fine salinity. It does not quite seem to deliver the same focus as the Les Pucelles that I tasted directly before it, so they will be two interesting wines to compare once in bottle.

The domaine was founded by Joseph Leflaive, who came to Burgundy in 1905. Anne-Claude Leflaive, the granddaughter of Joseph was appointed to run the domaine in 1990. A fervent proponent of biodynamic viticulture, Anne-Claude converted the domaine to biodynamics. After her untimely death in 2015, Brice de La Morandiere's, Anne-Claude's nephew and great grand son of Joseph Leflaive took on the mantle. He upholds the terroir-orientated, sustainable winemaking philosophy of the family.Read less
