We affectionately (and jovially) call this wine The Krug of Prosecco. Not only is its bottle shape reminiscent of the King of Champagne, but it is also one of the best Proseccos we have tasted. It is a small, family owned domaine that was only created in 2005 by Elena Moschetta and her husband Luca Cuzziol, one of Italys premier importers of Grand Marque Champagne and top Burgundy domaines. Their Bianca Vigna DOC Valdobbiadene is their top wine and grown on well-draining, limestone-rich mid-slopes (like the best Burgundy). In Spring 2010, it will be promoted to DOCG similar to appellations as Chianti Classico and Barolo.
Nestled between the visually dazzling city of Venice and celestial Lake Garda, this prolific wineregion is famous for both its whites and reds - notably Soave, Valpolicella and Amarone della Valpolicella. The Veneto'S aquatic influence results in relatively moderate temperatures even in hot vintages preserving the grapes' freshness.
