  • Goedhuis, December 2023

From 0.5 hectares in the northern sector of the appellation with clay and chalk soils. Characterised by its energy and brightness, with intense aromas of cranberry and pomegranate. The flavours are a little richer, with a touch of nutmeg and spice and vanilla. Very rewarding and ideal for youthful drinking.

  • Jasper Morris MW, November 2023, Score: 88-90

Still in barrel, as Boivin needs longer ageing, thanks to concentrated small berries. Two thirds whole bunch vinification. Something a little toastier and robust. Definitely firm tannins despite aiming at lighter extraction. This may tighten up further, For those who like to keep their wines. Drink from 2028-2034.

They are currently in the process of converting to organic vineyard management and Sylvain has instigated a more delicate approach in the winery for the Pinots.Read less

Marsannay

The most northerly appellation of the Cote d'Or, Marsannay is also the only appellation authorised to produce red, white and rose wine. Only created in 1987, this is an interesting area where quality is improving. Top producers include Bruno Clair, Meo-Camuzet and Denis Mortet.
