    Brilliant purple colour. This is made from 11 parcels across the village of Chambolle Musigny. Hints of wild strawberry aromas. This is a graceful style, with a silky tannic core and good intensity. It is uplifting and fresh on the finish.

    Matured in around 20% new oak, the 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Village, which comes from 11 parcels scattered around the appellation, has a brisk black cherry and raspberry bouquet that is quite airy in style. The palate is sorbet-fresh on the entry with a fine line of acidity, and lightly spiced with red fruit merging with more black fruit toward the energetic finish.     Here too the nose is exuberantly fresh and expressive with its array that is comprised by essence of red pinot fruit, spice and a whiff of oak toast. The lilting and lacy lighter weight flavors that are markedly saline in character on the clean, detailed and dusty. This is quite pretty and if it can add depth with a few years of bottle it could be potentially excellent. Drink 2022+

    Produced from fully eleven parcels scattered around the appellation, the 2017 Chambolle-Musigny Village offers up pretty aromas of sweet cherries, raspberries, candied peel and woodsmoke. On the palate, it's medium-bodied, fine-boned and succulent, with melting tannins, juicy acids and a giving core of fruit. While it won't hit the same heights, this will be more accessible than the 2016 and 2015 renditions.

The Hudelots are an ancient Burgundian family whose ancestry can be traced back to Chambolle since before the French Revolution. Needless to say, wine has been in their blood for almost as long. Alain Huedlot began his wine career in 1954 working for his father and other local growers. At the ripe young age of 20, he started renting vineyards from his family in Chambolle Musigny until eventually receiving other small parcels from his father. Following a passionate and whirlwind romance with the granddaughter of Charles Noellat, he married despite protests from her family. This controversial union ensured additional vineyards despite a harrying and lengthy legal battle. Today the domaine owns a total of 10 well-situated hectares, which are split over 5 communes. Alain Hudelot’s grandson Charles Van Canneyt is a man on a mission. Having arrived at the domaine from Champagne only six years ago, he is already considered one of the brightest young talents in the region. These wines are wonderful examples of traditionally styled Burgundy - superbly pure and focused with an undeniable sense of terroir.Read less

Chambolle Musigny

The wines of Chambolle Musigny are like no other. They can be superbly delicate, yet mindblowingly complex. Of all the northern Burgundy appellations, they are the most ethereal, and as a result the most feminine. Most of the Chambolle Musigny vineyard area is encompassed in its Village and Premier Cru appellations including the robust Beaux Bruns, the splendidly mineral Le Cras and the poised yet powerful Les Amoureuses. It produces only two Grand Crus - the round and rich Bonnes Mares which it shares with Morey St. Dénis, as well as what could be described as the Stradivarius of grand crus, Musigny.
