Goedhuis, December 2022
This, the oldest section of vines within the Rollin estate, was planted by Raymond back in 1945. The soil is an excellent representation of the appellation, combining clay and red iron with a firm bedrock of limestone. Bright purple colour, this has a fine clarity of red fruits, raspberry and loganberry. A soft acidity, with a pleasant line of tannic tension. Direct and pure.

Jasper Morris MW, December 2022, Score: 87-89
Solid and surprisingly dense purple. The bouquet is more rustic than the Savigny, a question of the vineyard, which has a good proportion of old and very old vines. A full mouthful with a more sombre style of fruit, this is really Aloxe style terroir. Drink from 2025-2028.

Region
Pernand Vergelesses
With its neighbours, Ladoix Serrigny and Aloxe-Corton, Pernand Vergelesses has its own village and premier cru appellations but shares the two grand crus: Corton, a red made from Pinot Noir, and Corton Charlemagne, a white made from Chardonnay. The limestone marl soil is well-suited to growing Chardonnay and the resulting white wines are crisp and mineral with a good capacity for ageing. Pinot Noir is planted in areas of redder iron-rich soil and the best vineyards produce charmingly soft red wines with classic notes of raspberries and violets.
