Goedhuis, January 2023
From the foothills of Chaintré this cuvée is from a selection of 50 year old vineyards owned by the domaine and is a perfectly crisp, unoaked style of white Burgundy. Fragrant white flowers, sumptuous white peach, and a tangerine tang are set against a mouth-watering limestone minerality. Lifted, fresh and delicious.

Decanter, June 2023, Score: 92
As with the Cornins Mâcon-Fuisse, there is plenty to like here. Rich and concentrated with brisk acidity to keep everything fresh, some leesy, creamy notes, with a bite of zesty citrus to keep the ripe fruit in check. Intriguing, long mineral finish. A very classy wine and a top example of village Mäcon. Drink 2023-2025

Domaine Dominique Cornin
There is so much that makes Domaine Cornin, from the village of Chaintré in Macon, special. Father and son, Dominique and Romain, are men of the soil. Their attitude is summed up by Romain’s ambition for the estate, “accomplishing my dream to become a vigneron fills me with a sense of freedom: The freedom to spend my days, as I see fit, in the thick of my vines, true to my father’s work philosophy and his love of the soil. ...Read more

At his side, I aspire to create a wine that reflects who I am and that I enjoy sharing.” They have been organic practitioners since 2000, something of a rarity in the Maconnais. Their ideology is to show to all the true expression of both the fruit and the soil. These wines are a joy, sourced from some of the oldest vineyards in the region. There is complete respect to individual terroirs and they have an excitement to them, fresh and bright but also juicy and warming.Read less

Region
Mâcon
Lying to the south of the Cote Chalonnaise and the north of Beaujolais, the town of Macon gives its name to wines produced from vineyards scattered among the surrounding villages. The climate is warmer than the Côte d'Or giving wines greater exposure to sun, less rain and reduced risk offrost. The vast majority are fresh, approachable whites made from Chardonnay. Reds and roses are also made principally from Gamay and a tiny amount of Pinot Noir.
