Striking red berry colour. With aromas of autumnal fruits and cherry blossom, this has a deftly elegant structure expressing the charm of the appellation with a touch of layered, earthy texture. Good length with a light touch of freshness on the finish.

Producer

Clos de la Roilette

Alain Coudert is one of the finest producers in the Beaujolais region. His domaine is located in Fleurie near the border with Moulin-à-Vent. He produces a sustainable and low intervention gamay.

Region

Fleurie

At the very southern tip of Burgundy, to the west of Villefranche-sur-Saone, lie the vineyards of Beaujolais. Light years from the illustrious slopes of the Cote d'Or, this is the home of the Gamay grape which thrives on granite soils. The grapes are vinified whole which results in lovely, fresh fruity red wines for early drinking. Fleurie is one of ten crus in the area producing a higher quality of wine than straightforward Beaujolais or Beaujolais villages. The wines are very appealing, full of perfumed fruit with a fresh, crunchy texture.
