Goedhuis, July 2022
A collaboration of two superstars of Burgundy: Jacques Seyss of Domaine Dujac and Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. This is a knockout Rose, emanating pale pink beauty in the glass. A blend of Cinsault, Grenache, Syrah and a touch of Merlot, it is crisp, fresh and extremely thirst-quenching. Full of bright red summer berries: Juicy watermelon, creamy sweet wild strawberries, crisp, energetic raspberries and aromatic redcurrants all sing from the glass and excite the palate. The finish has a delicious clean stony minerality. This is an elegant offering and quite simply, Its irresistible. This estate has been Organic since 2011. 12.5 % alcohol.

Founded in 1989 by Burgundy superstars, Jacques Seyss of Domaine Dujac and Aubert de Villaine of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, Domaine de Triennes has fast established itself as one of the finest wineries in the Var region of Provence. Found high up in the hills and situated deep in truffle country, vines have been grown here for nearly two thousand years. The estate takes its name from the 'triennia', the festivities held in honour of Bacchus, which took place every three years during the Roman times. A combination of cool nights and gradual ripening means that Domaine de Triennes can produce top quality fruit, forming the foundations for ripe but extremely elegant wines. Jacques's talented son, Jeremy, currently runs the estate and since the 2011 vintage, Domaine de Triennes have an organic Ecocert certification.Read less

Region
Côtes de Provence
France's most extensive appellation, the Côtes de Provence stretches from Toulon in the west to near Cannes in the east. The vineyards run from the sun-baked Mediterranean coast up into the Alpine foothills with their cooling influence. Rose wine accounts for four fifths of Côtes de Provence production. Formerly a drink for holidays only, consumption of rose is on the rise in both France and the UK and and the wines are more and more serious. Typically Cinsaut and Grenache are the most popular grape varieties. There is also a renewed focus on producing higher quality red wine by incorporating Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah into the blends, although combined they can only represent 30% of the blend. Plantings of indigenous white varieties are also increasing especially in the coastal areas.
