From the clay limestone soils of Crais, this St Veran is a lovely expression of the warm summer days. Freshly squeezed lemon, apples and pears with tropical top notes of guava are the perfect foil to the lively freshness on the finish.

Producer

Domaine des Crais

Region

Saint Véran

The vineyards of St Veran lie both to the north and south of the Pouilly Fuisse appellation at the southern tip of the Mâconnais. Only white wines made from the Chardonnay grape qualify. Saint-Véran's wines have more body and structure than a Mâcon Villages wine. They rarely have the power and structure to rival Pouilly Fuisse, but can represent excellent value.
