  • Goedhuis, December 2021

Sitting on the border with Chassagne Montrachet, 1er Cru Charmois is one of St Aubin’s most prized vineyards. A full, concentrated style, with warming apricot and peach flavours. It has great volume, held together by an earthy tannic structure. Bags of personality, long and full on the finish.

  • Jasper Morris MW, january 2022, Score: 90-92

Pale lemon and lime, a steelier nose, excellent depth of fruit, racy and with a firm fresh thread despite the richness of the fruit. Excellent backbone to this and more in white pear and apple fruit.

Today, Paul's oldest son Thierry has taken over the majority of winemaking responsibilities and hasdone so over the past few vintages. According to Paul, Thierry has a sort of ‘sixth sense' way ofdoing things which has only enhanced the wines' innate qualities. All we know is that they aredelicious and truly display a magical attribute that can only come from a master.Read less

Region

Saint Aubin

Due west of Puligny and Chassagne lies the little, picturesque village of St. Aubin. With the neighbouring village of Gamay, it produces 2/3 white wine and 1/3 red wine over 230 hectares of vines of which over 3/4 are premier cru. It was one of the last appellations created in only 1970 but has since created an excellent reputation for good value well made Burgundy that can replicatePuligny. Some of the most expressive vineyards are En Remilly and Les Murgers des Dents de Chien.
