Goedhuis, August 2020
This cuvée is made from young Sauvignon Blanc vines grown on the flinty limestone soils of Pouilly Fumé in the Loire Valley. The 2020 is crisp and energetic with wonderful aromas of blackcurrant leaf, elderflower, green apples and lemon. The palate has beautiful clarity of flavour and minerality, all underpinned by a lively acidity and long, fresh finish. Made by the enterprising Sébastien Redde, an emerging talent of the region.

The winemaking is steered by the energetic Sébastien Redde, who takes great pride in all his wines, from the simple pleasures of the Petit Fumé (a young vine cuvée) up to the majesty of ‘Marjorum’ which can age beautifully over 20 years. These are Sauvignon Blancs of really dynamic expression.Read less

Region
Pouilly Fumé
Perched on the opposite bank of the Loire to Sancerre, the limestone and clay slopes peppered with flint of Pouilly Fume have been home to grape growing and wine production since before the Roman era. Made exclusively from Sauvignon Blanc, these often excellent wines are characterised by a note of gunflint and a certain creamy richness in addition to the classic zesty herbacious flavours of the grape variety.
