Goedhuis, December 2021
This impressive 1er Cru faces the hillside of Corton Charlemagne. The cool east-facing white marl slope makes it an ideal site for growing Chardonnay, particularly in a warmer vintage such as 2020. Vincent likes to age this wine in larger 350 litre barrels to protect its pure fruit character. With aromas of pear and white fruits, this is very perfumed and floral in nature. It has a great zest of freshness and long controlled finish.

Jasper Morris MW, January 2022,
Score: 90-92A lovely clean lemon and lime colour, quite racy with a bit of bacon fat, punchy behind, some flesh, ripe citrus alongside the white fruit, wears its concentration lightly and is pleasingly long. Excellent finish.

Domaine Rapet Père et Fils

Domaine Rapet Pere et Fils can trace its history back as far as 1765. The Estate comprises 18 hectares of vines in the villages of Pernand-Vergelesses, Savigny les Beaune, Aloxe Corton and Beaune. Located between Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, the Pernand Vergelesses vineyard, tucked away in the green surroundings of a quiet valley, begins at the foot of Corton hill. It is the only vineyard to offer the whole range of vintages, in both white and red wines. Ageing of both red and white wines occurs in oak barrels (30% new for white and 20% new for red). All winery processes are undertaken to minimise the handling of the grapes.
Region
Pernand Vergelesses
With its neighbours, Ladoix Serrigny and Aloxe-Corton, Pernand Vergelesses has its own village and premier cru appellations but shares the two grand crus: Corton, a red made from Pinot Noir, and Corton Charlemagne, a white made from Chardonnay. The limestone marl soil is well-suited to growing Chardonnay and the resulting white wines are crisp and mineral with a good capacity for ageing. Pinot Noir is planted in areas of redder iron-rich soil and the best vineyards produce charmingly soft red wines with classic notes of raspberries and violets.
