Goedhuis, March 2022
A deliciously pure Mâcon Villages, showing the benefits of careful barrel maturation for 60% of the fruit, 25% of which is new oak. White peach and fresh apricot aromas, a soft creamy feel, an easy approachable wine fresh and full of life on the finish.

Jasper Morris MW, January 2022, Score: 87
Pale lemon colour. A classical Mâcon nose but with additional freshness, really appealing. Light in body, some saline and some citrus notes to finish.
Producer
Domaine Jean-Marc Boillot
Jean-Marc and his children Lydie and Benjamin consistently make some of the most appealing and forward drinking wines from their significant holdings across Burgundy. Their range of Puligny Montrachet premiers crus shows impressive individual distinction. Jean-Marc’s family has a long and distinguished history in Burgundy. His grandfather was Etienne Sauzet, from whom he inherited vineyards in the early 1990s. He spent his early career working for the family domaine, Henri Boillot, before making the wine at Domaine Olivier Leflaive. In the 1980s he began making wine from his own vineyards which were significantly expanded with his Sauzet inheritance of an outstanding array of Puligny premier cru sites. The family have exported their uncomplicated but precise winemaking philosophy further south to the Côte Chalonnaise, and more recently, Mâcon.
Region
Mâcon
Lying to the south of the Cote Chalonnaise and the north of Beaujolais, the town of Macon gives its name to wines produced from vineyards scattered among the surrounding villages. The climate is warmer than the Côte d'Or giving wines greater exposure to sun, less rain and reduced risk offrost. The vast majority are fresh, approachable whites made from Chardonnay. Reds and roses are also made principally from Gamay and a tiny amount of Pinot Noir.
