    The 2019 Gevrey-Chambertin Village comes mostly from Les Sevrées and La Justice, the rest from Brochon. It offers a mixture of red and black fruit on a nose that needs a little more delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with crunchy red berry fruit, modest weight and a slight attenuation on the finish that should fill out by the time of bottling. 2022-2030

    A mentholated top note is present on the more restrained nose of red berries, underbrush and a touch of humus. The delicious medium weight flavors possess a relatively supple mid-palate that immediately tightens up on the youthfully austere and moderately rustic finish that flashes outstanding depth and persistence for a villages level wine. This built-to-age effort is excellent. Outstanding. Drink 2029+

    62 barrels, of, which the component in new barrels has been racked. Heady and delicious, yet very well balanced, so lively, good natural acidity, fruit at optimum ripeness, light on its feet and very long. Frankly, this is a brilliant cuvée and there is plenty of it! 5 stars
