  • Allen Meadows, Score: 92-94

There is fine volume and richness if not quite the same concentration to the beautifully textured flavors that possess a supple mid-palate that contrasts considerably with the markedly firm finish that delivers excellent persistence. This is very classy though note well that it will require at least some patience.

Region

Grands Echézeaux

One of two Grand Crus within the Flagey-Echezeaux area right in the heart of the Cote de Nuits. Much more compact and homogenous than the neighbouring Echezeaux, the Grands Echézeaux vineyards are owned by around twenty producers - very modest in Burgundian terms. The most celebrated producers include Domaines de la Romanee Conti, d'Eugenie and Mongeard-Mugneret. These fine wines are richly complex yet balanced and have enormous ageing potential.
