Producer
Coquard Loison Fleurot

Domaine Coquard Loison Fleurot is a family estate with important holdings in Grands Echezeaux, Echezeaux, Clos de Vougeot, Charmes Chambertin, Clos de la Roche and Clos Saint Denis. Claire Fleurot represents the latest generation of this family and as commercial director she is taking the domaine to new heights. She has enlisted the help of talented young winemaker Thomas Colladot who has spent time at Domaine Cathiard. The grapes are destemmed and while the wines see some oak, they maintain a signature pure, juicy style. Coquard Loison Fleurot remains fairly unknown outside of France (traditionally the domaine only sold its wine to local supermarkets) but word is spreading… Watch this space.
Region
Côte de Nuits Villages
This communal appellation covers the vineyards of Fixin, Brochon, Premeaux, Comblanchien, and Corgoloin. Spread along the length of the Cotes de Nuits the wines of the different communes are, unsurprisingly, varied, reflecting a range of different exposures and nuances of soild type. The vast majority of production is red, with just a smattering of Chardonnay grown. The reds can offer very good value from the better producers.
