Goedhuis, October 2020
You only have to put your nose to the glass to be seduced by the beauty of this wine. It draws you in with its gorgeous flavours and bright open aromatics. Violets, rose, dark raspberries and red cherry are wound into a fine structure, everything is perfectly balanced and in harmony. The warmth of 2017 add some delicious richness to the fruit, but it is still medium-weight in structure, elegant and finely etched. The 2017 has immediate beauty and is drinking perfectly now, or will cellar for a few years

Antonio Galloni, October 2020, Score: 94
The 2017 Barbaresco shows just how appealing this vintage can be. In 2017, the warm, dry growing season gave the Barbaresco an extra kick of richness that fills out its frame and adds so much immediacy. Sweet red berry fruit, cinnamon, rose petal and mint are open in the glass, but it is the wine’s seductive radiance that wins the day. Pora, Ovello, Montestefano, Muncagota and Rio Sordo are the main vineyards used for the straight Barbaresco. The 2017 is such an inviting and expressive wine. Don’t miss it! Drink: 2020 - 2032

Jancis Robinson, July 2020, Score: 17
Barbaresco. Tasted blind. Just mid ruby with orange tinges. Lifted sour-cherry and raspberry nose. Elegant raspberry fruit palate which has a medium-weight feel to it and coating tannins. Long and still youthful. Promising.

Region
Barbaresco
Situated due northeast of Barolo, Barbaresco's soils are predominantly calcareous marls similar tothe vineyards of La Morra. Barbarescos tend to be lighter and more delicate in style with tannins that are often more textured than its Barolo counterparts. Slightly lower in altitude than Barolo, its Nebbiolo tends to ripen earlier creating some possible vintage variations between the two neighbouring areas. The wines are also released a year earlier.
