Goedhuis, December 2017
Named after the chestnut trees that once bordered this vineyard, this site benefits from the afternoon and evening sun due to its southerly exposure. Rich aromas of fudge and cream, it has a lovely volume and ripeness in the palate. A chalky minerality provides lift and energy on the finish.

Neal Martin, December 2017, Score: 90-92
The 2016 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Clos de la Chatenière, which originates from a parcel with a more southerly exposure compared to others farmed by Olivier Lamy, has a clean and precise bouquet with white peach, orange pith and subtle aniseed scents. The palate is very well balanced with more depth and fruit intensity than the Les Frionnes, touches of tangerine and white peach laced with bitter lemon, leading to a harmonious and quite long finish. Excellent. Drink 2019-2029

Decanter, January 2018, Score: 90
The Clos de la Chatenière is a more concentrated, textural wine than the Frionnes, with a bouquet of apple, pear and dried white flowers, and a glossy, deep and sapid palate impression underpinned by succulent acids. Drinking Window 2020 - 2030

Region
Saint Aubin
Due west of Puligny and Chassagne lies the little, picturesque village of St. Aubin. With the neighbouring village of Gamay, it produces 2/3 white wine and 1/3 red wine over 230 hectares of vines of which over 3/4 are premier cru. It was one of the last appellations created in only 1970 but has since created an excellent reputation for good value well made Burgundy that can replicatePuligny. Some of the most expressive vineyards are En Remilly and Les Murgers des Dents de Chien.
