Goedhuis, December 2017
Aromas of Moroccan spice and dark berry fruits with an undercurrent of tiny sweet wild strawberries. An appealing balance between earthy wild fruits, with some grippy rusticity that is such an appealing characteristic of Savigny wines.

Neal Martin, December 2017, Score: 90-92
The 2016 Savigny les Beaune les Grand Liards has a lovely, pure blackberry, boysenberry and wet loam scented bouquet that is very well defined. The palate is medium-bodied with dusky black fruit, chalky tannin, quite linear and focused but you can really fell the freshness and energy on the finish of this impressive village cru. Excellent, especially for a village cru, the sole vineyard to survive and make a single vineyard bottling. Drink 2020-2032

Jancis Robinson, January 2018, Score: 16.5
Light crimson. Good ripeness and concentration with a fair weight of tannin. Assertive. Lots to get your teeth into here. Exciting. Drink 2021-2030

It is now under the careful management of Chisa, the late Patrick Bize’s wife, and Marielle Grivot, Patrick’s sister. They like to continue his practice of whole bunch fermentation and gentle handling of the fruit during the vinification process. The result is always very stylish wines, which possess the sweetness of fruit and subtle core of tannins, which are such a character of the wines of Savigny.Read less

Savigny-lès-Beaune
The picturesque village of Savigny-lès-Beaune, just to the north of Beaune, is a relatively prolific producer in Burgundian terms. Less serious than its neighbours, Pommard and Volnay, these are nonethless delicious wines - perfumed, delicate and elegant. A tiny amount of white is produced.
