Goedhuis, December 2017
A richer and sturdier style than Cyril’s Longeroies. This wine contains dark Morello cherry aromas and flavours, with hints of mocha and spice. This vineyard has a reputation for longevity, masterfully displayed in this example, with its rich mid-palate density and tightly entwined tannic depth. Full, long and fresh.

Burghound, January 2018, Score: 89-91
A more elegant array of ripe aromas is composed of various red berries, underbrush and soft spice wisps. The sleek, generous and utterly beguiling medium weight flavors exhibit ample minerality on the relatively refined if slightly austere finish that is firm enough to suggest that while this could be enjoyed young, at least a few years of bottle aging would be beneficial. Drink: 2022+

Decanter, January 2018, Score: 91
From a lieu-dit with sandy, poor soils, this bottling reveals impressive detail and incipient complexity. A deep-pitched bouquet of smoky cherry and wild blueberry is followed by a supple, full-bodied wine with a taut, minerally chassis of tannin and lovely depth at the core. Drink 2022-2035

Jancis Robinson, January 2018, Score: 16.5
Quite intense nose. Juicy fruit with lots of acidity. Much more backward than the Longeroies. May turn out to be VGV. Drink 2023-2030

Whilst this might not be immediate, it reflects the respect that Marsannay and its best vineyards are rightly held in today.Read less

Marsannay
The most northerly appellation of the Cote d'Or, Marsannay is also the only appellation authorised to produce red, white and rose wine. Only created in 1987, this is an interesting area where quality is improving. Top producers include Bruno Clair, Meo-Camuzet and Denis Mortet.
