Tasting Notes
-
Goedhuis, November 2017
From a parcel situated near the Château. This has a superb aromatic intensity, with violets and floral tones. The palate is gourmand and complex with some rich undertones. With silky tannins and a svelte length.

Burghound, January 2018,
Score: 93-95Interestingly the beautifully layered nose is even more floral though less spicy with its gorgeously fresh dark berries and newly turned earth scents. The sleek, intense and muscular flavors possess equally impressive size, weight and power though the hugely long and youthfully austere finish is arguably even longer. Textbook. Don't miss! Drink: 2031+

Stephen Tanzer, January 2018,
Score: 93-95Deep red with ruby tones. Aromas of black cherry and licorice complicated by smoky minerality. The plushest and sweetest of this set of 2016s, but also with lovely energy and mineral lift to its flavors of black cherry and violet. Finishes dusty and very long, with an obvious element of wood tannins but no dryness. Boasts a terrific combination of density and precision. And as with the estate's Grands-Echézeaux, this wine has not been knocked off balance by the tiny crop level.
