Goedhuis, December 2016
Another outstanding premier cru adjoining Grand Cru La Tâche. The “quarrelling” or "disputed" vineyard is one of Vosne Romanée’s most prized parcels. Deep dark opaque colour, this wine is gloriously rich with a succulent volume of sweet dark fruits. Full-bodied and intense.

Neal Martin, December 2016, Score: 95-97
The 2015 Vosne Romanee 1Er Cru les Malconsorts boasts an outstanding, transparent and yet powerful bouquet with potent red berry fruit armed with superb tension and mineral drive. The palate is very concentrated, quite ripe and sweet yet still very precise, not a million miles away from Domaine Sylvain Cathiard in style, bestowed with ample energy and sustain on the structured finish. This is just magnificent. Drink Date 2020 - 2045

Burghound, January 2017, Score: 92-95
A markedly ripe nose retains a lovely sense of freshness that adds to the appeal of the restrained but very spicy and floral-infused red and dark currant aromas. In classic Malconsorts fashion, the broad-shouldered flavors are bold, powerful and robust with excellent minerality and even better complexity on the strikingly long finish. Note however that this is most definitely going to require a long snooze in a cool cellar and especially due to the large format bottling! Sweet spot. Outstanding. Drink 2035+

The Hudelots are an ancient Burgundian family whose ancestry can be traced back to Chambolle since before the French Revolution. Needless to say, wine has been in their blood for almost as long. Alain Huedlot began his wine career in 1954 working for his father and other local growers. At the ripe young age of 20, he started renting vineyards from his family in Chambolle Musigny until eventually receiving other small parcels from his father. Following a passionate and whirlwind romance with the granddaughter of Charles Noellat, he married despite protests from her family. This controversial union ensured additional vineyards despite a harrying and lengthy legal battle. Today the domaine owns a total of 10 well-situated hectares, which are split over 5 communes. Alain Hudelot’s grandson Charles Van Canneyt is a man on a mission. Having arrived at the domaine from Champagne only six years ago, he is already considered one of the brightest young talents in the region. These wines are wonderful examples of traditionally styled Burgundy - superbly pure and focused with an undeniable sense of terroir.Read less

Region
Vosne Romanée
The vineyards of the modest village of Vosne Romanée are arguably the most sought after in the Côte d'Or. It is host to excellent Village and Premier Cru wines, but it is its most famous Grand Crusthat truly stand out: Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Grands Echézeaux, Echézeaux, Romanée St. Vivant and La Romanée as well as Cros Parentoux, a Premier Cru vineyard which attracts Grand Cru attention (and prices). Vosne-Romanée can be remarkably robust and powerful, yet be charming and fleshy giving it one of the most diverse styles of the region.
