Goedhuis, December 2016
Situated at the back of the village, the high clay content in the soil contributes to a more muscular style of Savigny. Planted in 1990 this vineyard produces very small berries with great intensity of flavour. A rich and concentrated wine, full of deep dark forest fruits.

Burghound, April 2017, Score: 90-92
Discreet but not invisible wood sets off the equally pure and very pretty nose that consists of liqueur-like red berry fruit, pungent earth and a sauvage wisp. The sleek, delineated and punchy medium-bodied flavors reveal ample minerality on the focused if youthfully austere finish that is shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins. This too is worth considering. Drink 2022

Region
Savigny-lès-Beaune
The picturesque village of Savigny-lès-Beaune, just to the north of Beaune, is a relatively prolific producer in Burgundian terms. Less serious than its neighbours, Pommard and Volnay, these are nonethless delicious wines - perfumed, delicate and elegant. A tiny amount of white is produced.
