Neal Martin, December 2016,
Score: 94-96The 2015 Chapelle-Chambertin Grand Cru was slightly reduced when I tasted it from barrel, although it opened more rapidly than the Griotte-Chambertin, offering wonderful dark cherry, strawberry and bergamot scents entwined with cold stone, perhaps even mountain stream-like aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with supple, very fine, almost filigree tannin. There is superb symmetry here, a gentle but convincing build in the mouth towards a very poised and long finish. This is another outstanding 2015 from the domaine. Drnik 2024-2047

Burghound, January 2017,
Score: 92-95In contrast to the aromatic beauty of the Griotte this is very firmly reduced and unreadable today. Otherwise there is both excellent mid-palate concentration and power to the elegant yet muscular flavors that possess plenty of size and weight while delivering outstanding length on the palate coating finish as there is an abundance of dry extract present that also serves to buffer the notably structured finale. Once again, this should age effortlessly but it's also going to require extended patience. Drink 2031+

Stephen Tanzer, January 2018,
Score: 91+Medium red. More musky and soil-driven than the preceding Dugat '15s on the nose, with its fruit component currently suppressed. Surprisingly sweet on entry, then turns more clenched in the middle palate, offering some sauvage animal character and a tarry nuance. Distinctly compact today and hard to taste. Very tight on the finish, hinting at kirsch, game and saline soil tones. Ultimately the toughest to assess today among these 2015s. Drink 2028-2040

Region
Charmes-Chambertin
Charmes-Chambertin is one of the nine Grand Crus vineyards within the Gevrey Chambertin area. On gentle slopes, sheltered from the elements by woods to the north, gravelly soil forces the vines to work hard. Relatively large for a Grand Cru appellation, it is hard to generalise about the wines. Often intensely perfumed and seductive, Charmes-Chambertin can be approachable earlier than its Grand Crus neighbours.
