Neal Martin, December 2015, Score: 90-92
Courtesy of the domaine's youngest vines, the 2014 Vosne Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots has a perfumed, floral bouquet with rose petal scents infusing the mixture of red and black fruit, here the oak is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannin, veering more towards red fruit with a touch of gaminess and sous-bois towards the finish. Very fine. Drink 2018-2032

Burghound, January 2017, Score: 93
There is good freshness to the high-toned, pure, cool and airy nose of subtly spiced red cherry, pomegranate, violet and lavender aromas. There is terrific vibrancy to the intensely mineral-driven and beautifully delineated, even chiseled medium weight flavors that are markedly saline on the lilting yet hugely long finish. This will need a few years to flesh out but it should be more than worth the wait. As all the great examples of Reignots are, this is a wine of finesse and delicacy that delivers outstanding flavor authority. If you can find it, buy it. Outstanding. 93/2024+

Sarah Marsh, December 2015, Score: 18.75
This will have just 60% new oak at bottling. Floral notes, violets and light high spices…and it is so elegant..ripples on the palate ‘light’ but intense…pure and focused..there is minerality and tension and a long and refined finish. the vines are younger and I think this just accentuates the floating elegance and airy character of this wine… A high score for its elegance and because I like it.

He only has around 4.25 hectares of vines, therefore the quantity that he makes is particularly small. Traditionally, Burgundy domaines are renowned for being minute in size, and he is definitely amongst the smallest. In addition, he has some of the most exceptional vineyards, which read like a Who's Who list of the Côte de Nuits, many of which are located next to grand crus sites. This combination is lethal for allocations. Too little wine with too many open hands all waiting for their fair share. SInce 2011 his talented son, Sébastien, has been running the domaine.Read less

Region
Vosne Romanée
The vineyards of the modest village of Vosne Romanée are arguably the most sought after in the Côte d'Or. It is host to excellent Village and Premier Cru wines, but it is its most famous Grand Crusthat truly stand out: Romanée-Conti, La Tâche, Richebourg, Grands Echézeaux, Echézeaux, Romanée St. Vivant and La Romanée as well as Cros Parentoux, a Premier Cru vineyard which attracts Grand Cru attention (and prices). Vosne-Romanée can be remarkably robust and powerful, yet be charming and fleshy giving it one of the most diverse styles of the region.
