Goedhuis, January 2015
A favourite of mine and my vineyard of choice in St Aubin. This makes the most of its perfect position for the afternoon and evening sun which give a wonderful ripeness of fruit, but the shaded location in the cool crisp mornings allows it to maintain excellent acidity. A very classy wine.

Neal Martin, December 2014, Score: 90-92
The 2013 Saint Aubin 1er Cru Clos de la Chatenière has another reserved, cold stone bouquet with distant scents of wintry moorland developing in the glass. The palate is crisp and fresh with a taut line of acidity, abundant citric fruit and a very focused, clinical finish that will need bottle age in order to develop more personality. However there is plenty of energy in situ and that bodes well for the future. Drink: 2017 - 2029

Sarah Marsh, November 2014, Score: 17.25
One sample from the higher part…which planted in rows across the vineyard . This has quite a saline aroma. Tight and fizzles with energy and minerality. Tight and pure an very citrusy. tangy lemon zest on the finish. This sample is richer…but rather flat and broader…bit flat- interestingly he had chosen not to use SO2 on this as it turns out and maybe it would have been the better the other way round…he seemed to agree.. This is a blend of all the barrels: Here we have fruit, stone fruit with white peach. It is silky on the attack. It has a lovely balance; not too rich or too light with lovely ribbon of fragrance woven with citrus notes and good tension and minerality underneath. Score 17.25

Due west of Puligny and Chassagne lies the little, picturesque village of St. Aubin. With the neighbouring village of Gamay, it produces 2/3 white wine and 1/3 red wine over 230 hectares of vines of which over 3/4 are premier cru. It was one of the last appellations created in only 1970 but has since created an excellent reputation for good value well made Burgundy that can replicatePuligny. Some of the most expressive vineyards are En Remilly and Les Murgers des Dents de Chien.
