Goedhuis, December 2014
Radiant purple colour, with a striking raspberry and loganberry scent, this wine focuses on brightness of fruit and beautiful purity, full of lovely crystalline fruit flavours. Long and lively on the finish.

Sarah Marsh, November 2014, Score: 16.5
Dark fruit aroma; a little spice. It is quite rich at the beginning; good body and roundness to themid palate. Smooth tannins; good density of matter in the middle, fresh and spicy at the end. Again the malic is not making the tannins at all hard. Score 16.5.
Producer
Domaine Chandon de Briailles
The sibling team at this stunning domaine (Francois and Claude de Nicolay) is most definitely a winning one. Their biggest influence has been to convert the estate firstly to organic and now to biodynamic methods of viticulture and vinification. The wines focus on sensual flavours and refinement, these are not powerful, but the aged vines allow for wines of extraordinary texture and complexity.
Region
Savigny-lès-Beaune
The picturesque village of Savigny-lès-Beaune, just to the north of Beaune, is a relatively prolific producer in Burgundian terms. Less serious than its neighbours, Pommard and Volnay, these are nonethless delicious wines - perfumed, delicate and elegant. A tiny amount of white is produced.
