Tasting Notes
-
Burghound, January 2015,
Score: 91-93(from a .45 ha parcel in Les Treux where Clos de Vougeot meets Grands Echézeaux). A subtly toasty nose offers up a plethora of spice elements along with earthy and very cool yet ripe dark berry fruit and floral aromas. There is gorgeous intensity to the relatively large-scaled flavors that possess fine delineation on the extract-rich mid-palate before culminating in a refined yet serious finish that delivers excellent length. This is clearly built to age but again should be accessible after only 6 to 8 years of age. Drink 2025+

Sarah Marsh, November 2014,
Score: 19.25This is a muscular Echezeaux; powerful dense, vigorous wine. Full, dark and spicy tannins; rich bitter chocolate and coffee notes to the ripe fruit. Polished granite finish. A good deal of substance and bunched vigour. This muscle will take time to hone and the wine to smooth. A wine to put away and forget for quite a while. Score 19.25 From 2025

Region
Echézeaux
One of two Grand Crus within the Flagey-Echezeaux area right in the heart of the Cote de Nuits. Relatively large and consequently diverse for a Grand Cru, the better Echézeaux wines undoubtedly deserve this status. As always in Burgundy vineyard location and grower is critical.
