Goedhuis, December 2014
As its name would suggest this is a wine all about prettiness and charm. This is a beauty, with its sweet wild strawberry flavours and amazing balance. The subtle grainy structure is helped by a showy richness of fruit. A wonderfully seductive wine.

Neal Martin, December 2014, Score: 92-94
The 2013 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Charmes was the only cuvée that had been racked since it had been very reduced. There are four barrels, of which two are new. It has a lively and very natural bouquet that is well defined: the real essence of pinoté here, gently caressing and seducing the senses. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree and supple tannins, crisp acidity and a juicy corpulent finish that will seduce at ten paces. This is a fantastic Chambolle Charmes that will give years of pleasure. Drink: 2017 - 2035

Burghound, January 2015, Score: 90-92
(from 30+ year old vines). This is the first wine in the range to display any appreciable amount of wood influence though it remains relatively subtle as the very fresh, cool and elegant aromas of spicy high-toned red berry fruit scents are allowed to shine. There is fine volume to the utterly delicious and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors that possess a lacy mouth feel before culminating in a balanced and lingering finish. This is very Chambolle in style and character. Drink 2020+

The Hudelots are an ancient Burgundian family whose ancestry can be traced back to Chambolle since before the French Revolution. Needless to say, wine has been in their blood for almost as long. Alain Huedlot began his wine career in 1954 working for his father and other local growers. At the ripe young age of 20, he started renting vineyards from his family in Chambolle Musigny until eventually receiving other small parcels from his father. Following a passionate and whirlwind romance with the granddaughter of Charles Noellat, he married despite protests from her family. This controversial union ensured additional vineyards despite a harrying and lengthy legal battle. Today the domaine owns a total of 10 well-situated hectares, which are split over 5 communes. Alain Hudelot’s grandson Charles Van Canneyt is a man on a mission. Having arrived at the domaine from Champagne only six years ago, he is already considered one of the brightest young talents in the region. These wines are wonderful examples of traditionally styled Burgundy - superbly pure and focused with an undeniable sense of terroir.Read less

Chambolle Musigny
The wines of Chambolle Musigny are like no other. They can be superbly delicate, yet mindblowingly complex. Of all the northern Burgundy appellations, they are the most ethereal, and as a result the most feminine. Most of the Chambolle Musigny vineyard area is encompassed in its Village and Premier Cru appellations including the robust Beaux Bruns, the splendidly mineral Le Cras and the poised yet powerful Les Amoureuses. It produces only two Grand Crus - the round and rich Bonnes Mares which it shares with Morey St. Dénis, as well as what could be described as the Stradivarius of grand crus, Musigny.
