Goedhuis, December2012
If Marsannay was to have a Grand Cru, this would be itaccording to Cyril. Positioned in the central slopes in themiddle of the appellation, his 2011 is a deeply concentratedwine with strong summer berry flavours. This managesto balance its natural feeling of volume and richness witha lovely touch of finesse and refinement. A real star in themaking.

Burghound, January 2013, Score: 89-92
This is also exceptionally pretty with an expressive nose of raspberry liqueur, white flowers, violets and discreet spice nuances. There is good punch to the supple and intensely mineral-driven flavors that conclude in a clean, dry, linear and impressively persistent finish. This is not as complex as the best here, at least not yet, though given that Favières is one of the best climats in Marsannay, it could very well develop more. (89-92)/2018+

Whilst this might not be immediate, it reflects the respect that Marsannay and its best vineyards are rightly held in today.Read less

Marsannay
The most northerly appellation of the Cote d'Or, Marsannay is also the only appellation authorised to produce red, white and rose wine. Only created in 1987, this is an interesting area where quality is improving. Top producers include Bruno Clair, Meo-Camuzet and Denis Mortet.
